As more and more mothers are working, society increasingly relies on the service of nursery schools or Educare Workers, often referred to as Day Care Workers or Day Mothers. Educare workers look after children between the ages of 2 and 5 years at home or at nursery schools. The day is pre-planned and the Educare Worker works according to a timetable and pre-school curriculum.

Most Educare Workers are trained in pre-school teaching. A normal day starts with the Worker receiving the children from the parents. She takes instruction from the parents regarding matters such as dietary requirements and medication the children have to take.

The Educare Worker focuses on creative activities that will stimulate the children when they eat and with their toilet routine. The Educare Worker is at all times responsible for the children’s safety.

Attendants also serve cocktails and other refreshments. On longer flights they heat and distribute pre-cooked meals to passengers.
